What is TASS?
Our TASS (Teacher Assisted Self-Study) program provides opportunities for any adult student interested in working on credits to obtain their high school diploma or to upgrade credits for educational or work opportunities. TASS is a correspondence based program offering Gr 11 and 12 courses at the Workplace, College and University pathways. Teacher support for students is available each Wednesday evening. TASS can also support students in earning credits toward their OSSD through the Mature PLAR process.
Adult learners where English is a Second Language must have achieved CLB Level 6 in all areas to access programming at TASS.
TO REGISTER:
Adult learners can attend TASS any Wednesday between 5:30pm and 7:30pm at our location at 164 Van Order Drive to register. Students should enter through the doors in the south parking lot and proceed to the TASS office upstairs.
Please bring:
- A copy of your most recent transcript for registration
- A $25.00 activity fee

Eligibility for Mature Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition
PLAR is available to mature students who entered an Ontario Secondary School after 1999, or would like to graduate under the current Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) requirements.
Are you:
- At least 18 years old on or after January 01 of the current school year?
- Enrolled in a secondary school credit program for the purpose of obtaining your OSSD?
- NEW to the Ontario secondary school system, as of February 1, 2004 AND working towards an OSSD?
- New to the province or new to the country?
An eligible student may earn up to 26 equivalent credits using PLAR for Mature Students. The final four credits must be earned. Students can obtain these credits through any combination of our day school credit programming or the Teacher Assisted Self Study (TASS) Program. Eligible students must complete the literacy requirement and community service hours
