English as a Second Language

Jesse Landry - Beginner Class - CLB-01

  • Hello students! I teach the Beginner English class at Limestone Community Education. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where you can practice your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. In our class, we will use a variety of materials and activities to make learning fun! You will have the opportunity to interact with other ESL students and native speakers too. I will also help you to learn about Canadian culture and society and prepare for your academic or professional goals. I look forward to getting to know you!

Carolin Taguchi - Building Your English Skills - CLB 1-2

  • Hello, my name is Carolin. This class will help you improve your basic everyday English. We will practice what you learn, so you can use it outside the classroom and in the community.

Helen Parfitt - High Beginner - CLB 2-3

  • Welcome students! I teach the high beginner English class. In this class, you will learn to communicate well with others by improving your reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. You will learn to use functional everyday Canadian English in your new community, so that you can achieve your personal, academic or employment goals in Canada. You will have the opportunity to practice your spoken English with your classmates in a supportive, fun, and friendly environment.

Hina Waliani - Intermediate Class - CLB 3-4

  • Hello! My name is Hina and in my class, we will be talking about different topics based on students' preference. We will read passages, watch videos, work on related vocabulary and sentence structures. For each topic, we will cover reading writing, listening, and speaking. However, we will focus more on having discussions and speaking skills.

Tiffany Myers - High Intermediate - CLB 4-6

  • Hi, my name is Tiffany, I am very happy to be teaching at Limestone. The Workplace English class aims to prepare students for possible pathways of employment, secondary or post secondary education. We focus on Canadian workplace culture, health care system, legal topics, housing, government, and other topics as requested by students.  Students practice how to express themselves through speaking and develop reading and writing skills that will help them become more independent with their learning. There are plenty of opportunities to practice speaking with partners and group work. This class also regularly invites guest speakers from the community to familiarize students with key resources, and services. I look forward to meeting you. If you have any questions about the class please contact me by e-mail
