MPLAR:
MPLAR or Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition for Mature Students (PPM 132) is a formal evaluation and credit granting process that recognizes and values the knowledge and skills that students have acquired in formal and informal ways outside of secondary school. It is the process that helps mature students gain recognition for learning outside of formal education settings. MPLAR focuses on what adults already know and what they can do. For example, have you lived on your own and managed your own money? Do you have children? Have you worked or volunteered and learned new skills? These experiences are just a handful of situations that can be evaluated to determine how that life experience may be attached to secondary school credits. Limestone can help you obtain recognition for these life and work experiences.
The MPLAR process is available at both KLC and TASS and is supported through our Get SET programming for adult learners.
